when the body, mind and spirit work together, our staff of professionals
is committed to a holistic approach to counseling. The Employee
Assistance Program (EAP) provides professional, confidential counseling
services to help employees resolve personal and family problems
before they affect personal relationships, job performance, and
health. The program allows for a certain number of visits per year
at no charge. If more counseling is required, additional visits
are billed through medical insurance. If the employee is not covered
by insurance, a sliding scale fee will be assessed for self-pay.

1993 SPLOST - $169,418,600
Quality of Life
Columbus Consolidated Government
- The city's ancient combined sewers were rebuilt protecting the
quality of the community's most valuable resource, the Chattahoochee
River. In the process, a 14-mile RiverWalk was constructed for
the recreational enjoyment of local families and as an attraction
for visitors.
- A ninety-acre sports complex was developed on the South Commons
that has attracted national and international recognition and
brought the Olympics to Columbus.
- A beautiful new Civic Center was built to replace an old city
auditorium. Since its opening, hundreds of thousands of people
have enjoyed events and activities that were previously impossible
to bring to the city.
- Recreational opportunities were enhanced throughout the city
with the construction of four new regional recreation centers
and the renovation of numerous parks.
- More than fifty miles of sidewalks will be constructed to insure
the safety of children walking to school. This is almost double
the mileage of sidewalks promised in the original proposal.
- Public safety has been improved through the construction of
a new state-of-the-art public safety complex, insuring that Columbus
remains one of the safest cities in America.
