The 4th Annual West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition Breast Cancer Awareness "Paint The Town Pink Flash Night Run/Walk" will be Friday, October 4th, 2013 at 8:30pm at Woodruff Park. The 5k run/walk will allow participants to cross two state lines along the Riverwalk. "Paint The Town Pink Flash Night Run/Walk" is the BRIGHTEST, COOLEST running event you’ve ever seen! Along the 5k route music will pump and lights will dance creating a whimsical experience that will keep you energized and moving to the beat. You'll run, walk, skip and dance through distinct areas of lights and music mixed to match the mood of the lighting elements. The "Walk" is only one part of Paint The Town Pink Campaign and is quickly developing into a rich heritage for community business leaders and individuals that know the positive impact the "Walk" produces. This is certainly one of the most anticipated annual events in Columbus. Paint The Town Pink supports free mammograms and other diagnostic screening procedures for men and women in Columbus and surrounding counties who are not adequately insured, who earn low/moderate income and who otherwise could not obtain this necessary medical care. Since its inception, WCGCC is proud that mammograms were received and other diagnostic procedures through generous support of sponsors, walkers, and their pledges.
