Path-Tec Announces New Facility in Columbus, Georgia and Plans to Hire Additional Employees
100 new jobs anticipated

COLUMBUS, GA – October, 2015 – Path-Tec, a leading provider of specimen management  solutions, today announced it has acquired a new facility in Columbus and has plans to hire 100 additional team members. The 126,000 square-foot building is located at 5700 Old Brim Rd. in Muscogee Technology Park and will allow the company to grow its business of providing specimen management solutions that includes technology, kit development, production, distribution and logistics management.

Path-Tec will relocate from its existing 79,000 square-foot facility on Belfast Avenue where it already employs 100 team members. The company worked closely with the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Development Authority of Columbus prior to making the decision.

“We knew that we were outgrowing our current location so we were evaluating opportunities to expand,” said Kevin Boykin, president and CEO of Path-Tec. I have been very impressed with the high-level of support we received from the economic development professionals at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce,” said Boykin. “They identified this new building which will allow us to expand our production capacities immediately while we continue to focus on reducing our client’s time and costs associated with the specimen collection and transport   process.”

“One of our main priorities is to assist existing companies to achieve success,” said Brian Anderson, president & CEO of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. “By taking time to understand Path-Tec’s business, our team was able to provide the company access to valuable resources and guidance that will keep them firmly planted in   Columbus.

“Path-Tec has been a company that has quietly excelled in Columbus for several years and we are certainly excited about their investment and plans to hire more people,” said Billy Blanchard, chairman of the Development Authority of Columbus. “Columbus remains a great place to achieve business success and we will hold up Path-Tec as a shining  example.”

Path-Tec has been recognized for its growth by a number of organizations. Earlier this year it received recognition as one of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine, was identified as one of Georgia’s 40 fastest growing companies by ACG Atlanta and was also named business of the month by the Columbus Georgia Chamber of   Commerce.
