Valley Promise

Valley Promise
Driven by the Partnership for Workforce Development (a.k.a. Workforce Development Advisory Board) of The Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, The Valley Promise is the greater Columbus regions commitment to developing and sustaining a highly qualified and skilled workforce through education, training and dynamic partnerships.

High School Transcripts
To ensure that students understand that their academic choices influence their career choices by requiring that partnering businesses require any applicant for employment who is age 22 and under to provide a copy of their Transcript of Academic Records form. The applicant’s academic transcripts would be obtained and reviewed as part of their hiring consideration.

Work Ethics Curriculum
To be successful in any career, both strong occupational skills and good work habits are essential. These good work habits need to be incorporated into the high school curriculum. Work Ethics training will address Attendance, Character, Teamwork, Appearance, Attitude, Productivity, Organization, Communication, Cooperation and Respect skills and behaviors. Career Connections volunteer speakers will incorporate work ethics into their student presentations.
